Rotary Centennial Project Consultation

In September of 2020, staff was approached by members of the Rotary Club of Port Hope outlining the desire to complete a substantial project for their upcoming 100th anniversary in 2022. Rotary will enhance the fish ladder park area. The goal is to create a unique focal point for both visitors and residents to enjoy, while recognizing the significant contributions of Rotary in the community.

PRC User Fee Review

Staff has conducted a review of Parks, Recreation, and Culture user fees. This process involves a thorough assessment of the market using municipal comparators as well as surrounding communities who have similar facilities.
The proposed fees are posted on the My Port Hope community engagement site for review and public comment.
Notable changes are proposed for user fees associated with:
- The arena
- Pool and aquatics programming
- Parks and sports fields rentals
- Meeting, gym, and banquet room rentals
Youth Recreation Survey

As part of the Community Improvement Research project, which aims to plan for future recreation and sports opportunities for youth in our community, our researcher is hosting focus groups and conducting a survey to jumpstart the project. This research will help us determine the direction of future youth programming.

Day Camp Registration

Residents are advised that the Municipality is offering a modified summer day camp program this year. Following the Ontario Government’s announcement on May 16, 2021, modifications will be made to our regular day camp programming in order to comply with provincial directives and to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our campers and staff.
Last summer, we offered successful modified camp programming and are confident that we can provide a fun, engaging and safe experience again this summer.

Community Improvement Research

The Municipality of Port Hope has been selected by Toronto-based non-profit Community Researchers to participate in the first intake of a new research initiative this summer that will help inform the direction of youth programming for the Municipality.
