Mechanical Dredging in the Outer Harbour - August 19

In collaboration with Cameco, we will be conducting a small mechanical dredging operation in the outer harbour on Monday, August 19, 2024.

Purpose of the Dredging:

The dredging operation aims to remove a freshwater intake that is no longer required by Cameco. This will help maintain the functionality and safety of the harbour.

Sediment Placement:

Road Closures around Pine Street and North Street

Please be advised that a private company will be working to install water and wastewater services to a private property on North Street this week. To accommodate this work, please note the following road closures:

Wednesday, August 14

Pine Street North (between Clayton Lane and North Street) will be closed. Bruton Street and North Street will remain open for local residents to navigate the closure.

Arts Festival Road Closure - August 10

A reminder that the Port Hope Arts Festival is this Saturday, August 10, throughout Downtown. Residents are advised of the following impacts to accommodate this year’s festival:

Road Closures

Augusta Street (from Queen Street to Elias Street) will be closed from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. to accommodate the outdoor vendor market.

Parking Lot Closures

The parking lot at Town Hall will also be closed to accommodate the Port Hope Farmers Market.

Victoria Street South Closure Beginning August 12

Victoria Street (from Ridout Street to Strachan Street) will be closed beginning August 12 for approximately two weeks. This closure is facilitated by Enbridge Gas as they upgrade a portion of the main gas line that runs under the road.

The work being done by Enbridge Gas is setting the stage for a future capital project in this area. This upcoming project will focus on improving the road infrastructure, ultimately benefiting the community with better transportation and connectivity
