Municipal Land Use Restrictions Lifted

Residents are advised that the land use restrictions bordering the Ganaraska River will be lifted as of Wednesday, May 13, 2020. Access to municipally owned green spaces, trails and paths along the River will be open to the public for pass-through use only. Please note that all conservation areas north of Molson Street remain closed at this time, per the direction of the Ganaraska Region Conservation Authority.

Traffic and Parking By-law Amendment - Lake Street

Municipality of Port Hope Council will consider the following amendment to the Traffic and Parking By-law (No. 39/2008) at their regular Council meeting on June 2, 2020:
- The restriction of parking on the south side of Lake Street from Hope Street South to the Wastewater Treatment Plant entrance.

Black Bear Sightings in Urban Area

Residents are advised that there have been reported black bear sightings in various locations in the urban area of the Municipality.
The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry (MNRF) cautions that at this time of year, natural food sources for bears can be scarce, so bears are seeking other available food sources (attractants), some of which may be available on or near your property. Tree Removal on Lakeshore Road

Council and staff have received numerous inquiries from residents about trees that have been removed along Ridout Street and Lakeshore Road. Below is a review of the project details.

Easter Weekend Transit Closure

Residents are advised that Municipal Transit will not operate during the observed Easter holidays: Friday, April 10 and Monday, April 13, 2020.
All buses will operate as usual on Saturday, April 11, 2020.
