Per government regulations, Municipal recreational facilities will be reopening on Monday, January 31, 2022. We look forward to welcoming the community back to our recreation facilities and to offering modified programs and activities for residents to enjoy.

Residents may visit any of the following facilities during operating hours as a temporary space to find relief from inclement weather and cold temperatures. The Town Park Recreation Centre is no longer the only designated warming centre.

In response to recent trends that show a rapid increase in COVID-19 hospitalizations, the Province of Ontario will be returning to a modified Step Two of its Roadmap to Reopen on Wednesday, January 5, 2022. This includes temporary closures of public spaces within the municipality.

Government Mandated Facility Updates

On December 10, 2021, the provincial government announced they are taking action to protect against the Omicron variant. Some of the announced changes affect the regulations in our recreational facilities:
Youth aged 12 to 17As of December 20, 2021, youth aged 12 to 17 years will be required to show a valid proof of vaccination if participating in organized sports at recreational facilities. This new mandate will affect our Jack Burger Sports Complex and Town Park Recreation Centre.
