Warming Centres

We have made a change to our warming centre operations. The Town Park Recreation Centre is no longer the only designated warming centre. Residents may visit any of the following facilities during operating hours as a temporary space for relief from inclement weather and cold temperatures.
- Port Hope Public Library Mary J. Benson Branch, 31 Queen Street
- Jack Burger Sports Complex, 60 Highland Drive
- Town Park Recreation Centre, 62 McCaul Street

Services Interruption on Family Day

Residents are advised that municipal transit will be closed, and staff services will be unavailable on Family Day, Monday, February 21, 2022. Services will resume at their usual business hours on Tuesday, February 22, 2022.
For roads or water-related emergencies during the holiday, please call 905-885-2431 and press * to reach our after-hours emergency line.

Winter Recreation – Session 2

Registration of our Winter 2 recreation programs is underway until February 16, 2022. You can register online, over the phone or in person for fitness classes, children’s programs and more. For detailed registration information, visit our registration page. Please note: there is no aquatics registration in this session.
Reminder that COVID-19 guidelines and restrictions, and proof of vaccination mandates are in place for all of our indoor recreation programs and activities.

Recreation Facilities Reopening

Per government regulations, Municipal recreational facilities will be reopening on Monday, January 31, 2022. We look forward to welcoming the community back to our recreation facilities and to offering modified programs and activities for residents to enjoy.

Overnight Snow Removal Downtown

Residents and business owners are advised that our road crews will be removing snow in the downtown core beginning at 12:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 20, 2022. This timeline has been identified to gain full access of the roadways while vehicles are off the road, traffic is light, and the equipment can move freely to access the areas that require snow removal.
