The Municipality of Port Hope will be observing the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation on September 30.

The following buildings and services will be closed on Monday, September 30, 2024:

Celebrate Culture Days with Free Activities

Culture Days is an annual cross-country celebration of arts and culture, that runs from September 20 through October 13, 2024. Each year, we are proud to host hands-on activities, events, and workshops, that allow our residents to discover and deepen their appreciation of arts, culture, and creativity. Fall Hydrant Flushing Program

Residents are advised that Municipal staff will be flushing the fire hydrants as part of a standard maintenance program. Residents are asked to refrain from doing laundry on the following dates and times, as water may be at lower pressure than normal and rust may occur:

Dates: October 1 to November 15, 2024 - Weekdays (Monday to Friday)

West Side of Ganaraska River - Mornings - 7:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
East Side of Ganaraska River - Afternoons - 12:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Notice of Public Meeting for Development Charges - October 8, 2024

On Tuesday, October 8, 2024 the Council of the Municipality of Port Hope will hold a public meeting, pursuant to section 12 of the Development Charges Act, 1997, as amended, to present and obtain public input on the municipality’s proposed development charges (D.C.) bylaw and underlying background study.

Port Hope Fair Parking Restrictions and Transit Interruptions

The annual Port Hope Fair is back from September 12 to 15, 2024. Residents are reminded of the following impacts:

Parking restrictions

To alleviate traffic congestion and ensure emergency vehicle access to the fair grounds and surrounding neighbourhood, there will be no parking from September 12 at 8:00 a.m. to September 15 at 5:00 p.m. on the following streets:

• No-parking on the west side of Elgin Street North (from Ward Street to Croft Street)
• No-parking on the west side of Deblaquire Street...
