Closure Notice: National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

The Municipality of Port Hope will be observing the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation on September 30.
The following buildings and services will be closed on Monday, September 30, 2024:
- Town Hall
- Fire Administration Office
- Development Team Office
- Water Treatment Plant
- Wastewater Treatment Plant
- Joint Operation Centre
- Rural Works Yard
- Port Hope Public Library
The following buildings and services will remain open for service, rentals and scheduled programs:

Culture Days is an annual cross-country celebration of arts and culture, that runs from September 20 through October 13, 2024. Fall Hydrant Flushing Program

Residents are advised that Municipal staff will be flushing the fire hydrants as part of a standard maintenance program. Residents are asked to refrain from doing laundry on the following dates and times, as water may be at lower pressure than normal and rust may occur:
Dates: October 1 to November 15, 2024 - Weekdays (Monday to Friday)
West Side of Ganaraska River - Mornings - 7:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
East Side of Ganaraska River - Afternoons - 12:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

On Tuesday, October 8, 2024 the Council of the Municipality of Port Hope will hold a public meeting, pursuant to section 12 of the Development Charges Act, 1997, as amended, to present and obtain public input on the municipality’s proposed development charges (D.C.) bylaw and underlying background study.

The annual Port Hope Fair is back from September 12 to 15, 2024. Residents are reminded of the following impacts:
Parking restrictionsTo alleviate traffic congestion and ensure emergency vehicle access to the fair grounds and surrounding neighbourhood, there will be no parking from September 12 at 8:00 a.m. to September 15 at 5:00 p.m. on the following streets:
- No-parking on the west side of Elgin Street North (from Ward Street to Croft Street)
