Take notice that the Council of the Corporation of the Municipality of Port Hope in accordance with Sections 34 and 51 of the Planning Act will hold a Public Meeting on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at 6:30 p.m. in person at Town Hall to consider an application for Zoning By-law Amendment (file # ZB02-2022) and a Draft Plan of Subdivision (file # SU01-2022), for lands east of Mill Street and north of Ganaraska road in the Hamlet of Garden Hill (see Subject Lands Map).

West Beach Closed for Swimming

Update July 11:
HKPR District Health Unit has advised that the water samples from West Beach are normal, and the beach is open for swimming.
After a standard test of the water at our local beaches, the Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge District Health Unit has advised the Municipality of Port Hope to close the West Beach for swimming, due to an increase in E. coli bacteria levels. The Beach remains open for walking, hiking, etc.

Residents are advised that the Public Meeting scheduled for Wednesday, July 6, 2022, for a development proposed at 3852 Ganaraska Road in Garden Hill is cancelled. Following agency circulation, additional information is expected to be received on the application, which will be included in the future meeting materials.

Water Infrastructure Maintenance

As a result of routine water infrastructure maintenance today, residents with properties on the following streets may notice rust-coloured water when turning on the taps this afternoon / evening:
- Victoria Street S.
- Bramley Street S.
- Strachan Street
- Sherbourne Street
- Durham Street
- Trafalgar Street
The water is safe for use. Residents can flush a cold water tap for five to seven minutes to clear the rust-colour.
