The tender for the second phase of the Walton Street Reconstruction project closed on November 3, 2023. However, there was only one compliant bid, and the quoted project costs were significantly more money than the Municipality had initially planned for this project. The proposed budget is too high for what the Municipality approved. Staff have written a report to Council, suggesting that they cancel the current bid and break the project into two parts over two years to better manage costs....

Training Exercise and Infrastructure Upgrade to Fire Hydrants on Highland Drive

Staff have identified, through routine fire hydrant testing, that an upgrade to infrastructure supplying water to select fire hydrants on Highland Drive must be completed. This upgrade work must be done promptly to ensure there is adequate water pressure for fire suppression to structures in the area, particularly to the Jack Burger Sports Complex (JBSC). Hydrants along Highland Drive, east of the JBSC are not affected as services are supplied from watermains from Cavan Street.
