TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Corporation of the Municipality of Port Hope will hold a Public Meeting on Wednesday, April 18th, 2018 at 6:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers, 2nd floor, Town Hall, 56 Queen Street, Port Hope, to consider a proposed Community Improvement Plan for Downtown Port Hope under Section 28 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. P.13, as amended.
THE PURPOSE of the public meeting is to consider a Community Improvement Plan (CIP) for the Downtown Port Hope Community Improvement Project Area generally located in the downtown area of the Municipality of Port Hope (see Subject Lands Map).
THE EFFECT of the CIP is to identify the key community improvement needs in Downtown Port Hope, outline public realm improvements and promote the revitalization of Port Hope. The proposed Downtown Port Hope CIP contains a toolbox of financial incentives designed to stimulate private sector investment, building and property rehabilitation, development and re-development within the downtown core.
ANY PERSON may attend the public meeting and/or make written or verbal representation either in support of or in opposition to the proposed Downtown Port Hope CIP.
IF A PERSON OR PUBLIC BODY does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the Municipality of Port Hope before the proposed Downtown Port Hope CIP is adopted, the person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision of Council to the Ontario Municipal Board.
IF A PERSON OR PUBLIC BODY does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the Municipality of Port Hope before the proposed Downtown Port Hope CIP is adopted, the person or public body may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Ontario Municipal Board unless, in the opinion of the Board, there are reasonable grounds to add the person or public body as a party.
IF YOU WISH TO BE NOTIFIED of the adoption of the proposed Downtown Port Hope CIP, or of the refusal to adopt the CIP, you must make a written request to the Municipality of Port Hope at the address of 56 Queen Street, Port Hope, ON L1A 3Z9.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION and material about the Downtown Port Hope CIP will be available to the public for inspection between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday, at the Municipal Development Team Office at 5 Mill Street South, Port Hope.
