Jack Burger Sports Complex Pool Closure for Bi-Annual Maintenance

The pools and hot tub at the Jack Burger Sports Complex will be closed for bi-annual maintenance from June 22 to July 5, 2026.
Front desk staff will be available on-site from June 22 to 24 between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. The entire Jack Burger Sports Complex will then be fully closed from Thursday, June 25 through Sunday, July 5 to complete maintenance work across all areas. The facility, including all amenities, will reopen on Monday, July 6.

Downtown Street Closures to Accommodate Pride Parade – June 6, 2026

Northumberland Pride is hosting an all-ages event Downtown to celebrate Pride Month in Port Hope. This free event takes place in Memorial Park from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 6, 2026. To kick off the event, Northumberland Pride is hosting a parade through the Downtown at 9:30 a.m.
To accommodate the parade, the following road closures will be in effect from 9:15 a.m. to 10 a.m.:

West Beach Restoration Work Begins June 8

Residents are advised that the Port Hope Area Initiative (PHAI) will begin the final stages of restoration work at West Beach during the week of June 8, 2026. The western section of the site is being restored to a naturalized state which will support the potential for both wetland ecology and fisheries habitat in the Alexander Creek area.

New Encroachment By-law to Regulate Private Use of Municipal Property

At their last Council meeting, Municipality of Port Hope adopted a new Encroachment By-law, along with supporting policies and updates to Municipal fees.
This new By-Law helps keep public spaces safe and protects Municipal infrastructure by setting rules for how Municipally owned land can be used. An ‘encroachment’ is any object, structure or activity that extends from private property onto municipal land. This can include features such as landscaping, structures, fences, signage, or patios.
