Minor Bus Route and Stop Changes Effective July 2

print-logo June 28, 2019

Residents are advised that effective Tuesday, July 2, a revised transit map will be circulated, which includes minor changes to the bus routes and some of the bus stops.

The slight revisions to the routes and stops include the following:

  • Route A will now continue east on Centennial Drive rather than turning south on Crossley and east on Jocelyn. From Centennial Drive, it will turn south at Cavan Street and continue on the Route. Two additional stops have been added to this route on Centennial Drive. Another stop has also been added to Barrett Street, beside Pharmasave.

  • The bus will no longer stop at the intersections of Hamilton Road/Ward Street and Jocelyn Street/Ravine Drive.

  • No changes have been made to the transit time schedule and buses will continue to leave Town Hall on the hour and the half-hour, as usual.

The changes made to the routes reflect the feedback given by transit users and the bus drivers, and have been implemented in an effort to better suit the needs of the community.

Bus users are encouraged to download a revised map, available on the Port Hope transit webpage (porthope.ca/transit), or to pick up a hard copy at Town Hall (56 Queen Street), the Development Team Office (5 Mill Street), the Tourism Office (20 Queen Street), or the Mary J. Benson branch of the Port Hope Public Library (31 Queen Street).

Questions regarding the bus routes or schedule can be directed to Jerry Siebarth, Transit Coordinator, at 905-885-9891.
