Transit Update: Cobourg Express Shuttle

Update 2/19/26: Tomorrow (Friday, February 20, 2026), the Cobourg Express Shuttle will run to and from Cobourg at 7:30 a.m., 8:00 a.m., 9:30 a.m. 3:00 p.m., and 3:30 p.m., Beginning at 5:30 p.m., the shuttle will run every half hour until 8:00 p.m. The team will be utilizing the ROLLS van for most of the day and spots may be limited to two people per trip.

Council at the Committee of the Whole meeting of February 3, 2026 considered Staff Report WE-01-26 – Garden Hill Dam Environmental Assessment.
At this meeting, Council directed staff to invite Ganaraska Region Conservation Authority (GRCA) and County of Northumberland to provide more information to Council related to this matter at a future meeting no later than the end of February 2026.

Hazardous Weather - Facility Closures – February 18, 2026

Update 2/18/26 at 5:00 p.m.: The Transfer Station is now closed for the evening, due to freezing rain.
Update 2/18/26 at 11:15 a.m.: Municipal recreation facilities and the Port Hope Public Library will be opening at noon today. Staff will continue to monitor winter storm warnings and if cancellations are necessary, registrants will be contacted directly. If you are uncertain about an event not run by the municipality, residents are encouraged to contact their sport organizations directly.
Changes to Downtown Parking Fees begin February 17

For the first time in 13 years, all downtown metered on‑street parking spaces and paid municipal parking lots will see a $0.50 per hour rate increase beginning February 17. The weekday parking rate for paid municipal lots and metered on‑street spaces, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., will rise from $1.00 to $1.50 per hour.
