At the Special Council meeting on July 25, 2018, Municipality of Port Hope Council appointed Jeanette Davidson as the Director of Works and Engineering, a full-time, permanent position, effective July 26, 2018.
“Jeanette has demonstrated skilled leadership over the last few months as Acting Director,” noted Bob Sanderson, Mayor of the Municipality of Port Hope. “The decision to appoint Jeanette as the Director was unanimous and Council is pleased to stabilize this position in the very busy Works and Engineering Department.”
Ms. Davidson first joined the Municipality in January 2005 as the Development Services Technician, providing engineering service for residential and commercial development. In 2007, she transferred to the Engineering Services Technician to provide engineering services for Municipal infrastructure construction and maintenance. In 2017, Ms. Davidson’s role expanded to the position of Engineering Manager and March 2018, she accepted the temporary assignment as the Acting Director of Works and Engineering.
“I’m honoured to serve as the Director of Works and Engineering,” shared Ms. Davidson. “I have a wonderful team of dedicated staff who work hard for this community, and I am proud to continue to lead the Department and look forward to the challenges and achievements ahead.”
As Director of the Works and Engineering Department, Ms. Davidson is responsible for the Transportation (Roads) Operations Division, the Drinking Water Treatment and Distribution Operations Division, the Sewage Collection and Treatment Operations Division, the Engineering Services Division and the Planning Division.
