Overnight Snow Removal

Residents and business owners are advised that Municipal road crews will be operating in the downtown core on Tuesday, December 30, to remove snow in the Heritage Business Improvement Area (HBIA) overnight and into the morning of Wednesday, December 31. This timeline has been identified to gain full access of the roadways while vehicles are off of the road, traffic is light, and the equipment can move freely to access the areas that require snow removal.

Update on the Walton Street Watermain Break – December 29, 2025

At approximately 8:45 a.m. on December 28, 2025, a watermain break occurred at the northwest corner of the Walton Street Bridge over the Ganaraska River. Increased flows were observed by staff at 9:15 a.m., and subsequent calls from the public helped pinpoint the exact location of the break.

Watermain Break - Walton Street

Work continues on Walton Street to fix a broken watermain. As a result, Walton Street (from Mill Street to Queen Street) is closed. Please use an alternate route, as crews are onsite to fix the break. The bridge will remain closed until further notice. We will provide updates when more information is available.

Residents are advised that Christmas tree disposal will take place in the Municipality from January 5 to 9, 2026.
These trees don’t go to waste! We donate them to local farms and wildlife sanctuaries where they become tasty snacks for animals. To keep them safe, please make sure all nails, metal bases, ornaments, and lights are removed before tree disposal.
