Summer Transit Delays

Due to the ongoing construction activities in the community, transit services on both in-town routes may experience occasional delays, which could affect connections at the Transit Hub.

We appreciate your understanding as our transit drivers continue to navigate changing traffic conditions safely and efficiently. Safety remains our top priority for passengers, drivers and all road users.

August 2026 Update - 121 Cavan Street Debris Removal (Former File Factory)

Beginning August 17 (weather permitting), residents will see Cliffshore Excavating & Paving working at 121 Cavan Street removing the building remnants and fire-related debris. This work is expected to take approximately two weeks. During this time, there may be temporary lane disruptions and increased truck traffic in the area. This work is being completed alongside PHAI activities in the area, so drivers and pedestrians are asked to exercise caution when travelling nearby.

Arts Festival Road Closure - August 8

A reminder that the Port Hope Arts Festival is this Saturday, August 8, throughout Downtown. Residents are advised of the following impacts to accommodate this year’s festival:

Road Closures

• Augusta Street (from Queen Street to Elias Street) will be closed from 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. to accommodate the outdoor vendor market.
• Queen Street (from Walton Street to Augusta Street, including the Elias laneway) will be closed from 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. to accommodate festival activities and an evening...

Bus Stop at Hillcrest Drive and Toronto Road Out of Service

Please be advised that bus stop A13, located at Hillcrest Drive and Toronto Road, is temporarily out of service until further notice due to the Toronto Road construction project.

Civic Holiday Closures

Residents are advised of the following impacts to service due to the upcoming Civic Holiday.

Administrative building closures

Municipal administrative buildings will be closed on Monday, August 3, 2026 for the Civic holiday. Services will resume on Tuesday, August 4, 2026 at their usual operating hours.
