The Port Hope Community Health Centre at 99 Toronto Road, is a community-centred primary health care facility, and member of The Association of Ontario Health Centres (AOHC), the advocacy organization for non-profit, community governed, multidisciplinary primary health care models.

The HKPR District Health Unit works with the residents of communities to help prevent illness, protect against disease and promote healthy lifestyles. The Unit provides support and guidance on a variety of public health issues including nutrition, physical activity, and substance abuse. They monitor water quality, inspect food premises, approve septic systems and investigate environmental hazards. Furthermore, the Unit works to prevent the spread of communicable diseases through immunization and infection control programs.
