Fees & Charges


The Municipal Act R.S.O. 1990, c.M45 allows a municipality or local board to pass a By-law imposing fees or charges for services or activities provided, or done by, or on behalf of it, and for the use of its property.

On Tuesday December 19, 2017 Council approved the Municipality's Fees and Charges By-law 84/2017 and schedules to be effective January 1, 2018.

On Tuesday April 3, 2018 Council approved the Municipality of Port Hope's By-law 25/2018 to amend the Fees and Charges By-law 84/2017. The By-law 25/2018 includes the Building Department's Schedule D which reflects the change of the sidewalk patio extensions fees.

Posted below are the By-laws 84/2017 and 25/2018 in which outlines the fees and charges for the Municipality of Port Hope. The following are links to the schedules outlining the fees for each service area as approved in the By-law.
