Fees & Charges


The Municipal Act R.S.O. 1990, c.M45 allows a municipality or local board to pass a By-law imposing fees or charges for services or activities provided, or done by, or on behalf of it, and for the use of its property.

2019 Proposed Fees and Charges 

On Tuesday November 6, 2018 Finance Committee considered a staff report with a recommendation that the proposed Schedules (Appendix 'A') be posted from November 7 – November 26, 2018 for a community consultation, and further that staff report to Finance Committee on December 4, 2018 following the community consultation process to provide any feedback received.

The fees and charges documents are posted on the Municipality of Port Hope’s Community Consultation webpage. If you wish to provide any comments there are three methods to do so, which are located at the bottom of the Community Consultation webpage. All comments must be submitted no later than 4:30 p.m. on Monday November 26, 2018.

2018 Fees and Charges

On Tuesday December 19, 2017 Council approved the Municipality's Fees and Charges By-law 84/2017 and schedules to be effective January 1, 2018.

On Tuesday April 3, 2018 Council approved the Municipality of Port Hope's By-law 25/2018 to amend the Fees and Charges By-law 84/2017. The By-law 25/2018 includes the Building Department's Schedule D which reflects the change of the sidewalk patio extensions fees.
