In light of the COVID-19 pandemic and the government's mandate to maintain physical distancing, the Municipality of Port Hope has decided to celebrate Canada Day virtually.

On July 1, the entire Port Hope community is invited to sing our National Anthem at 11:00 a.m. sharp, followed by a community-wide cheer from your front porch, lawn, bacony or driveway. This is our unifying moment - so plan to swing open those doors and share in the experience!

Take part in our photo submission challenges (psst, there are prizes to be won!):

  • #frommyporch, a public art challenge to showcase what you love most about Canada, in partnership with Critical Mass Art.
  • Show N Shine, a virtual car show from our respective driveways.
  • The Great Port Hope Pancake Challange, a fun way to share a pancake breakfast (brunch, lunch or dinner - we won't judge) together.

Try out a guided yoga session, hosted by Spraoi Yoga, and experience virtual fireworks, as presented by Snapd, from the comfort of your own home!

Happy Canada Day!
