port hope TRANSIT

The Municipality of Port Hope offers transit services within the urban area of the Municipality and to Cobourg's Northumberland Mall, Walmart, and Northumberland Hills Hospital. The bus leaves Town Hall every hour on the hour.  There are two routes through the urban area (Route A on west side, Route B on east side of Port Hope).

Effective June 6, 2011, operating hours of transit are:

                Monday to Friday 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
                Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 

          * No service on Sundays and holidays

Cobourg-Port Hope Service


The bus leaves Town Hall every hour on the hour and arrives at the Northumberland Mall every hour at 10 minutes past the hour. Riders may transfer to a Cobourg bus for $1.00 or ride the Port Hope bus to the Hospital - the bus then returns to Port Hope.

  • Monday - Friday Arrives at the Mall at 10 minutes past the hour from 7:00 am to 9:00 pm (last shuttle at 8:10 pm)
  • Saturday Arrives at the Mall at 10 minutes past the hour from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm (last shuttle at 4:10 pm)

ROLLS - Specialty Bus Service

The Municipality of Port Hope is pleased to provide ROLLS service to eligible patrons who are unable to utilize regular public transit.   Any resident of the Municipality of Port Hope with a physical disability (permanent or temporary), who is unable to board regular public transit, should complete the ROLLS information and Application Form below.   

  • Service provider is Burt Transportation Service
  • Operating hours match the regular transit service hours:

                Monday to Friday 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
                Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  

          * No service on Sundays and holidays
