Chair - Police and Fire Services Committee

First elected to Council in 2010, Greg previously served as Chair of the Parks, Recreation and Culture portfolio. Greg was employed in the municipal parks and recreation field from 1971-1989, his last position being Director of Parks and Recreation in Cambridge, Ontario. From 1989 to 2009, he was a professor at Conestoga College in Kitchener, Ontario, where he received the Aubrey Hagar Distinguished Teaching Award in 2000 recognizing his creativity and excellence in the teaching/learning process.

Greg has founded several non-profit organizations, sat as a Board member of a community arts theatre and served as Chair of North Carolina State University’s professional development schools. He served as Chair of the Port Hope Public Library Board from 2011-2015, as a past Treasurer for the Bewdley and District Lions Club, and past Chair of the Church Council of New Hope United Church. He has volunteered as a fundraiser for Habitat for Humanity Northumberland and Beginnings. 

Greg’s current Council portfolio is Police and Fire Services, and in that capacity sits as a member of the Port Hope Police Services Board and the Joint Animal Control Municipal Services Board.
