The public review period of the Brown Street Reconstruction project is open for public commenting.

The Municipality of Port Hope has retained Ainley Graham & Associates Limited (Ainley Group) to complete the design for the Reconstruction of Brown Street between the limits of Walton Street and Bedford Street. The works are to include new asphalt, sidewalk, curb and gutter, and underground infrastructure including storm sewer, sanitary sewer, and watermain.

The project is being planned in accordance with the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (Class EA) process. It is being carried out as Schedule ‘A+’ undertaking and is thereby pre-approved under the Class EA. Following the completion of the design, the Municipality will proceed to construction, tentatively scheduled to begin spring 2019, pending future budget approvals.

As part of the planning, the public is invited to attend a Public Information Centre. The Public Information Centre has been scheduled to provide the public with an opportunity to review the project and discuss any issues. Representatives from the Municipality and the Consulting Engineer will be present to receive input and comments from interested individuals.
